Fazenda Monte Verde, a consistent finalist in the Brazilian Cup of Excellence Competition, is located in the municipality of Carmo de Minas in the Mantiqueira region, which has excellent growing conditions for the production of high quality coffees and is internationally recognized for coffee exports.
Beyond the farm’s coffee tree’s, Monte Verde has 573 hectares (1416 acres) of preserved flora and fauna with 170 hectares (420 acres) producing seven different coffee cultivars along with preserved native grasses for our livestock, and 25 natural springs that flow into the Green River Basin.
At the farm, we actively work with social programs to protect and enrich the lives of the farm families and employees. Currently, more than 20 families reside on the property, including some families who have lived at Monte Verde for five generations. Farm improvements include new septic systems and solar water heaters for the farm homes, and refurbishing the farm’s soccer field.
